nah bro professors gonna say “oh you don’t have to use the raise hand feature I’ll answer your question anytime” and then you have to stutter at the first word as for them to notice you and stop talking and THEN hear you out.
welp now that I got the motivation to get outta bed (I mean I’m still in bed but you get the POINT) and write I might as well follow up pointing out all the flaws of educators and education these days.
so first of all: different platforms. I hate it. like I’ll have to literally learn which class is where (zoom, skype, the school’s own platform) which to me is complete cowmilk. zoom was invented for a reason, okay? just use it. nobody uses skype and microsoft accounts are annoying. one time I tried (I was 10) to get one note, accidentally changed the email to a non existent one and my mom had to sort things out because microsoft support is trash.
second: the sheer amount of homework. listen, I even consider myself privileged in this case because I’m homeschooled, but my uni-level courses will assign like 10 tasks / homework, a homework per class, like 7 classes / week, and that already stacks up to 70 tasks. and then theres other things like boot camps and stuff. I’m not complaining I just think this is crazy.
third: grades. I don’t have them, again, I’m homeschooled and my teachers are very nice. however, grades suck. they really do. one flippin’ grade on some standardized test will determine your whole life. that’s just so dumb to me.
fourth: the entire education thing is a pyramid scheme. I went from not knowing math AT ALL at age NINE to knowing calc 1 & the basics of calc 2 at 11. you DO NOT NEED 16+ YEARS OF EDUCATION. plus, it’s not like people don’t cram the information the night if the exam. they probably won’t retain the information but still, they still pass the exam, right?
and finally five, and this is more of a pet peeve than anything, but when everyone turns their camera on during online class. I know some schools require this, but can people please have some respect to the poor souls with 5/2 mbps download/upload internet speed? no? yep that’s what I figured.
