AND BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING, OKAY – this is the technical task i wrote for myself for the new css style.
so theres gonna be the “playing field” with all the windows, the first 5 posts will be pulled and shoved into the top left of the playing field along with an error message text with “LATEST” on it. then towards the middle right we have “ABOUT” and a few windows that have text about me, clicking on the titles of these windows takes the user to the full page. then there’s a “NOW PLAYING” window clicking on the title of which takes the user to a playlist of 2000s metal songs, (those same 2000s metal songs play on the website using the interface of Microsoft Media Player) there’s also gonna be a search box around the NOW PLAYING where the user can search pages (its stylised like goggle and clicking enter has a chance of activating the virus that comes with goggle,) there’s also a shelve of documents explaining my beliefs on top of the bottom menu, that can be tipped over with the mouse cursor. clicking on any of these documents opens it.
the bottom menu contains the windows start from which you can run programs, and a few programs like the MS-DOS command line with limited functionality, paint, internet explorer (some windows already opened,) minesweeper, hearts, and calculator that of COURSE runs on javascript eval. I mean, if we’re cloning windows 98, might as well throw security precautions to the wind!
there’s also the pages own gifypet. because why not.
now for the sidebar. it contains the quote “THERE IS NO GOD TO SPEAK OF” at the top. below that, “CATEGORIES,” also styled like an error, with a bunch of categories for the blog styled as books that can be picked up and toppled over. below that there’s text saying “(this failed all wcag guidelines lmaoo)” then there’s a countup from Y2K and a countdown to Y2K38. there’s also an indication of how many viruses the user unlocked. and lastly, there’s quotes saying “MERGE THE MODERN WITH THE ANCIENT”, “FEAR THE UNKNOWN” and “THE ALIENS ARE COMING.” clicking any of these leads to a SATIRE, very important to note its SATIRE, conspiracy theory page.
the page is also completely ridden with various gifs and random noises, because I mean cmon it’s the 2000s.
