I ALREADY MANAGED TO WRITE ~13% OF MY ESSAY… which is due… soon. yea I never actually got a deadline… which is why I’m sorta *concerned,* but uh doesn’t matter! no *stated* deadline = no deadline! plus, it was never *stated* I have to write my essay on russian (the language my compsci courses, (yes autocorrect I appreciate you suggesting curses, that is yes,)) so conlang speedrun? they’ll (the people who check my work) take so much time translating that they’ll never actually get to the topic, so as long as I periodically add grammar and jargon, I’ll be fine.
NO BUT LIKE I’m very proud of the calculation I did to figure out that percentage so yes which is why I have enough dopamine to write this rn instead of stressing over my other work (once again, autocorrect, I appreciate you suggesting “life”, however I’m still stressing over my life.)

so, I took the number of words in a page full of text (for a ceiling approximation despite me probably making up that term) = 343. I’ve planned out around 45 pages of text, excluding sources. so 343*45=shit uhhhh 1 sec one… so thousands… 15,435? yea so I’ve already written 2026 words, so the % of essay I wrote is 2026/15435*100=~13.1%
now, because the denominator is the upper bound, the result is the LOWER bound. so I wrote 13.1%++ (++ to make me feel good about procrastinating)
AND IF WE COUNT THE PAGES THEN it’s 8/45*100=~17.7% WHICH IS GOOD. (and yet, 45 is kinda pushing the bound (hehehe funny pun) because I need 50 pages, but apparently sources count which is nice, so 17.7% is still the upper bound of the amount I’ve written, and the true value will fall somewhere between 13.1% and 17.7%, I think.)
